Dilara has had 18 radiation treatments so far, but yesterday was the first for craniospinal. She went in a little nervous but did well after the treatment like usual. They used Vicks for the terrible smell she gets as they radiate. After that she wanted to walk, she didn't want to just go back to RMH. She talked all week about how she just wants to go home. I can't imagine what this must be like for her.

We took an Uber from NYPC to Central Park, the west side. We went to the Belvedere Castle and saw some beautiful views and talented musicians. While we are here in NYC, we want her to experience what it's all about: The people, the culture, the music, taking a taxi, and a bus ride, eating whatever she can tolerate (that's been rough). If she is missing out on home, school, and friends, we might as well enrich her life in other ways. While we were in Central Park someone lost their dog and we called the number on her collar and returned her to the owner. Then a doggy daycare came through and she was in love! 🤩. We snuck in so she could throw the ball for them and pet them, she loves the fluffy ones. After that she was sooo tired. She couldn't really walk anymore, her poor little legs. I tried giving her a piggy back ride but that only lasted a block or two.

We got back to RMH just in time for the Thursday night event. Bloomberg hosts an amazing dinner and dessert party with arts and crafts activities for the kids; it's literally top notch. They cover every aspect of hospitality that you can imagine, from the napkins and to-go plates to the healthy kid-friendly meal, to the vanilla ice cream on top of the apple pie (for Pi Day!). Fran is amazing and Dilara always likes to see her. Dilara even made her a bracelet with her name on it and she wears it everyday. 💕. We are extremely thankful. They keep the vibe light and fun, even if it's just for a little while. Dilara wasn't feeling well at that time so Fran helped us pack up some food and the leprechauns into a to-go bag and we went to our room.

Dilara didn't eat anything all day, except for half of a muffin in the morning. She didn't eat when we went to the room either. She felt really crappy. She went to sleep and felt a little better. I offered her any kind of food she wanted, after all we are in NYC and she could probably get anything she wants in the world via DoorDash! She replied: home 🏡. I slept next to her on the pullout couch. She was up-and-down all night long until finally at 1 AM she started throwing up.
